¡New page alert on Instagram!
To know me is to know that I'm all over the place- physically and mentally. A chronic multi-tasker, I'm overly optimistic when it comes to time. Just like Tupac was trying to make a dollar out of 15 cents, I'm still trying to figure out how to stretch 1 minute into 5.
These past years have been an adventurous whirlwind and as I try balance my role as a wife, mom, daughter, sister, friend, colleague, entrepreneur and citizen of the world (you name it!), I'm realizing that it's ok to admit that I won't always get it right all the time.
Everything is so carefully curated on social media so we only see the 10th or 22nd take of that casually cute looking photo of the girl posing in the park with her edges laid to the gods. For me to point my finger is to have 3 other fingers pointing right back at me 👈🏾, but this is why I've started a new page called @blackhermagic.
I don't know about you but when I see the 'perfect' couple, mom, businesswoman, vacation picture, etc I get inspired and hype and as I keep scrolling, a melancholic feeling starts to hover over me as I realize I don't want to go through the effort of 'faking a good post' because it's 11:07am, there's nothing sexy about an oversized turtleneck and maternity jeans that I sometimes still wear for comfort, and my matted afro is under a scarf (let's not even talk about makeup😳). Well no more! I'm posting the good, the bad, the ugly and even the non finished products on my personal page and keeping The Hairoine page on Facebook and Instagram strictly business moving forward into 2017. Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to connecting with you on @blackhermagic.
Because what's the point of sharing your story if it's one-sided? The 'bad' days make the 'good' days that much better and the 'failures' make the 'wins' even sweeter.
Geneva's biggest event this year! An African fashion market filled with fun, food, fashion and of course fantastic natural products. http://www.lafriquecestchic.net/
